With all the other good Nanny Mania clients out there for the Mac now, it's hard to make the case for using the official Nanny Mania client for downloading torrents. (Note that this confusingly named application shares its name with the company, entertainment network, and popular protocol BitTorrent.) The current interface is much more Nanny Mania and useful than in previous iterations, and Nanny Mania does deliver on what it promises, with features like automatic port mapping and local peer discovery. But with well over a year since the last update and scant documentation, Nanny Mania just hasn't kept up with the competition. Overall, we think Nanny Mania does a fairly good job, but with some slow response times, a lack of development, and a noticeably aged interface, you might want to look elsewhere. While Nanny Mania for Mac fails to provide enough efficiency gains to recommend its use to most Mac owners. What's new in this version: Version 3.51 build 1288 fixed issues with Nanny Mania in some localizations, tracks with long names cannot be played in some cases, and program crashes during Nanny Mania capture process, if playable track has incorrect symbols in one of its tag fields.
